How SportzCal Stays Accurate

A sports calendar is only useful if it's correct. Here's exactly how we source the data, convert it, and — for Season Pass subscribers — keep it current all season.

Where the schedule data comes from

We pull real fixture data from established sports data providers, not from scraping a league's website by hand. Some schedules are locked in months ahead; others — like broadcaster-flexed kickoff times, or finals fixtures that only exist once the earlier rounds are decided — are only confirmed a few weeks, or even days, before the game. When a time genuinely isn't confirmed yet, we say so clearly in your calendar rather than guessing.

How the timezone conversion works

Every fixture is stored with its real venue and the venue's actual local kickoff time. When you download or sync your calendar, we convert that venue-local time into your chosen timezone — properly accounting for daylight saving in both places, since that's exactly the kind of detail that trips up a manual conversion.

The difference between the one-off and the Season Pass

A one-off download is a snapshot — accurate at the moment you download it, but it won't know if anything changes afterward. That's the honest trade-off for the lower price.

A Season Pass gets a live calendar feed instead of a static file. We check for schedule changes and re-sync automatically, and your calendar app (Apple, Google, or Outlook) checks that feed on its own schedule — typically every hour or so for Apple, every few hours for Outlook, and roughly once a day for Google Calendar. For a sports schedule that only changes a handful of times a season, that's more than fast enough to catch a change well before it matters.

On top of the live feed, Season Pass subscribers also get an email whenever something genuinely changes — a kickoff time gets confirmed, a game moves, or your team qualifies for finals — so you're never relying on the feed alone to notice.
